To contain the spread of the coronavirus: Neustadt an der Weinstraße declares state of crisis – plans for emergency hospital underway
Due to growing impact of the current COVID-19 situation on all areas of healthcare in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, we have recognized a threatening situation for medical care in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. Mayor Marc Weigel has therefore declared Alert Level 4 in accordance with LBKG (State Law on Fire Protection, General Aid and Disaster Protection).
This results in the necessity to set up an emergency hospital for Neustadt an der Weinstraße. After visiting various sites, the Diakonissen-Mutterhaus in Lachen-Speyerdorf was selected as the most suitable building and is being prepared accordingly.
The emergency hospital must also be staffed with enough people, which requires the support of doctors, nurses and individuals with training in emergency rescue service. The city of Neustadt an der Weinstraße calls on anyone with medical training who considers him/herself in a position to provide support for the planned facilities.
