Since 1995, Culinary Heritage has served as a guide to regional food and culinary traditions, and now includes 45 European regions with 1,479 members (as of July 2017).

Slowfood means the conscious enjoyment and the vitality and the cultivation of the culture of eating and drinking - under the motto of good, clean and fair. Especially in the Palatinate, where almonds, lemons, kiwis and vines characterize the landscape, Slow Food is well networked with its current 350 members.
As a member of Romantic Cities, a network of cities such as Mainz, Trier, Koblenz, Worms, Idar-Oberstein and Speyer, Neustadt an der Weinstraße is one of the seven most important tourist cities in Rhineland-Palatinate.
