Public Spaces Ban

To contain the spread of the coronavirus: The City of Neustadt an der Weinstraße bans access to public spaces

In an effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus, Mayor Marc Weigel of Neustadt an der Weinstraße has ordered a public spaces ban, initially in effect from Saturday, March 21, 2020 until Sunday, April 19, 2020. The city of Neustadt an der Weinstraße and neighboring cities and counties such as Landau, Südliche Weinstraße and Germersheim are following the example of the city of Freiburg.

Important: This is not a total curfew. This public spaces ban means that walking in/on public spaces such as streets, paths, sidewalks, squares, public parks and parking lots is prohibited. People should only leave their house or apartment to go to work (including childcare), to visit a doctor or to buy groceries. Those who wish to spend time in outdoor public spaces are only allowed to do so alone, in groups of two, or with other members of their immediate household. This includes taking walks, jogging and walking dogs.
